Logo Design
Our collaboration started with designing the logo and visual identity for the company.
I was looking for ways to combine Finnish and Space in the aesthetics of their logo. I started by looking for suitable fonts for the logo. A typeface called North had clear, bold and Scandinavian look to it so I chose that for the Aurora logo font. I thought I wanted to have a custom element to the logo that would make it stand out and be memorable. Star Trek and old space arcade games inspired me to customize the letter A's to a rocket-like shape. The shape of the letters are also similar to northern trees which also signals the location of the company. Lastly I chose another typeface for the Propulsion Technologies text. Futura light gives the last cinematic and professional touch to the logo.
Custom letter A's can be also used as an emblem or trademark of the company.
Visual identity
Initially I thought that naturally the logo should be paired with typeface Futura. Since original Futura should have been licenced I thought it is better for now to go with something else. I chose Montserrat to since it has similar corporate and clean look to it. Also the colors changed slightly for the final identity.

"We are a startup developing a capable portfolio of SmallSat attitude control and orbital maneuvering solutions. Focus is on creating integrated life cycle products to handle all SmallSat propulsion needs ranging from attitude control and orbital maneuvering to controlled deorbiting at the end of the mission."
